1. Regular Exercise
Physical activity reduces elevated insulin levels which lowers your risk of cancer, and boosts immune system. Maintaining a healthy weight may also reduce the risk of certain types of cancer.
2. Avoid Sugary Foods
Studies show that consuming sugary foods can depress the immune system, fueling cancer growth. Artificial sweeteners like Aspartame have been linked to brain tumors, lymphoma, and leukemia.
3. Fruits and Vegetables
Raw fruits and vegetables contain potent cancer fighting antioxidants and nutrients. Try to eat five or more servings of fruits and vegetables a day.
4. Don’t Use Tobacco
Avoiding tobacco is very important. According to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, smoking can cause cancer almost anywhere in your body. And poisons in cigarette smoke weakens the immune system making it harder to kill cancer ccells.
5. Limit Alcohol Consumption
Studies have shown an association of alcohol consumption and cancer of the head and neck, liver breast, colon and esophageal cancer. Try to limit alcohol consumption to 1 drink per day for women and up to two drinks per day for men.
